New program in 91香蕉视频鈥檚 Nutrition Diagnostics department

It鈥檚 official! 91香蕉视频 has been approved to launch a Master鈥檚 in Nutrition Diagnostics Graduate Program next spring! This innovative program is a fast-track to becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).

Students in the RD fast-track program will be empowered with a deeper understanding of nutrition and its impact on human health. RDNs are uniquely qualified to identify and process nutritional health-related problems, and our students will be trained in evidence-based methods to learn these skills.

A significant benefit for this program is the ease of entry. This is a 16-month, three semester master鈥檚 program and students do not need an undergraduate degree in nutrition or dietetics to apply. Our Nutrition Diagnostics faculty is an impressive group and we鈥檙e so excited to see where they take this program!

Kansas City Chiefs Raffle Winner

The winner of our Kansas City Chiefs ticket raffle drawing was Farrah Harlow from CMG Financial Services! We hope you enjoy the game.

We raised nearly $17,000 for our student emergency fund through the Chiefs raffle!! We are blown away by the amount of participants. Thank you SO MUCH for supporting our students. Additionally, thank you to the 91香蕉视频 Foundation for assisting us with this fundraiser! We couldn’t have done it without their help.

Nightingale Ceremony

As many of you have heard by now, 91香蕉视频鈥檚 next evolution is the Alliance for Healthcare Education. Missouri State, Ozarks Technical Community College, Springfield Public Schools, and 91香蕉视频 are partnering together to build a powerful educational enterprise that will shape the future of health care in our region for many years to come!

A sizeable portion of Cox North鈥檚 campus is not currently being used, but the campus will be renovated and maximized to accommodate students in the Alliance. We鈥檙e excited to see how the details of this initiative will continue to take shape in the next year.

Kansas City Chiefs Raffle

We are raffling two tickets for the Super Bowl rematch between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles on November 20! The tickets are in the lower bowl, include a parking pass, and are valued at $1,300 in total.

All of the proceeds from this raffle will benefit our student emergency fund. You can be eligible to win for as little as $10, but your chances of winning increase with each ticket purchased. We will draw the winner on October 18. Thank you for supporting our students!

Faculty earns new certification

Carol Francka, Director of 91香蕉视频鈥檚 Clinical Skills and Simulation Center, is now officially a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator!

We are writing to share news that will shape the future of health science education in our region.听 After extensive discussions and careful consideration, we are pleased to announce that 91香蕉视频 will be joining the Alliance for Healthcare Education (the 鈥淎lliance鈥�).

The Alliance is a nonprofit corporation created by 91香蕉视频, Missouri State University (鈥淢SU鈥�), Ozarks Technical Community College (鈥淥TC鈥�), and Springfield Public Schools (鈥淪PS鈥�).听 The Alliance鈥檚 mission is to form an educational enterprise that will create a seamless secondary and post-secondary educational experience.听 This bold, collaborative approach to healthcare education seeks to develop the talent to meet 鈥� and exceed 鈥� our region鈥檚 healthcare workforce needs for decades to come. The Alliance will create unprecedented and exciting opportunities for students across the region, with Cox North serving as the primary educational site.

The goal of the Alliance is to coordinate resources among member institutions for the benefit of students and the community.听 Additionally, the Alliance will grow in the future to include other participating organizations. 91香蕉视频 will continue enrolling new students in its existing programs though the Spring 2025 semester. Thereafter, 91香蕉视频 will no longer enroll new students. The Alliance is targeted to open in Fall 2025.听 As of that time, 91香蕉视频 students will have the opportunity to complete their education at 91香蕉视频 or enroll with MSU or OTC, as partners of 91香蕉视频 in the Alliance.听 For students who continue their education at 91香蕉视频 after the Alliance鈥檚 opening, 91香蕉视频 will remain fully operational for the period necessary to teach ongoing programs through completion. Once 91香蕉视频 programs that commenced in Spring 2025 have concluded, 91香蕉视频 will close, transitioning its operations to the Alliance and its members.

The decision for 91香蕉视频 to partner with MSU, OTC, and SPS in the Alliance was made with the utmost commitment to our students’ and alumni鈥檚 best interests and professional pursuits. 91香蕉视频 has grown to become one of the largest allied health colleges in Missouri, but we cannot meet all healthcare workforce growth demands alone. By combining our resources and expertise with our partners, we will significantly increase the number of healthcare professionals for our rapidly-growing region. In addition, this partnership will provide more opportunities for students to connect to industry earlier in their academic careers.

We are currently working with the Alliance and its members to finalize all details, which will depend in part on discussions with regulatory agencies.听 Specifically, our plans related to the Alliance may be subject to approvals from the Higher Learning Commission and other regulatory bodies.

Throughout the process of transitioning 91香蕉视频 operations to the Alliance, we will prioritize open communication and transparency to address your questions and concerns. 听The formation of the Alliance will not impact the availability of financial aid for 91香蕉视频 students, and the 91香蕉视频 Foundation plans to continue to distribute scholarships as it has historically. 听In the coming weeks, we will launch an Alliance for Healthcare Education tab on 91香蕉视频鈥檚 website that will include information about the Alliance, as well as answers to frequently asked questions.

As students and alumni, your experiences and achievements have shaped 91香蕉视频’s legacy, and we value your continued involvement in and support for this exciting new phase of healthcare education.听 Together, we will build upon our proud traditions and forge new connections. Through the Alliance, we will create stronger, more dynamic and sustainable educational opportunities for students which will prepare them for success in the rapidly-changing landscape of healthcare education.

In May, we saw the hard work pay off. We saw the smiles on the faces of graduates and their family members. We saw the shout-outs and messages of congratulations on social media. Our graduates deserved every bit of the praise.

Spring 2023 Commencement

On May 12, 179 students walked across the stage and officially became health care professionals. We couldn鈥檛 be more proud and excited to see what they accomplish in their careers!

MSOT accreditation status

The MSOT program at 91香蕉视频 has been granted 10 years of re-accreditation status!

10 year re-accreditation status is considered the gold standard by ACOTE, and is the longest interval of time an Occupational Therapy program can receive re-accreditation status for. Big things are in store for our OT department!

Longtime faculty member retiring

After 17 years at 91香蕉视频, Debra Oss is retiring. She was a beloved faculty member and helped educate countless students who went on to be great nurses.

Debra, thank you so much for everything you have done for our students in your time here! Enjoy your next chapter of life.

91香蕉视频’s ASR Program Director, Dr. Daniel Edwards, just completed his Doctor of Educational Leadership, Curriculum, and Instruction Degree (Ed.D) from Evangel University!

OTD classes begin

On May 22, 91香蕉视频 launched the inaugural cohort of the Occupational Therapy Doctorate Program. This program is a 108 credit hour, 9 semester, hybrid program serving students from around the United States who are seeking to become occupational therapy practitioners. Students have the best of both worlds 鈥� flexible scheduling and hands-on application. Their first on-campus visit for hands-on learning application begins June 5.

It is an honor to be serving the occupational therapy profession with this innovative program! If you know someone who would like to be an occupational therapist, we can help them find the graduate degree pathway that fits their learning needs, lifestyle, and preferences!

Nightingale Ceremony

A special tradition unlike any other, the Nightingale ceremony took place the evening before graduation. Our soon-to-be nursing graduates received their lamps and were pinned by their loved ones. In the picture below, Angela Ford led them in reciting the Nightingale pledge.

Scholarship awarding

Over $250,000 has been awarded to our students in scholarships for the upcoming fall semester!
